Creative Expression
Music
Music is an integral part of the curriculum, where our students have the opportunity to pursue instrumental and vocal music. Our school band leads our athletic contingents every year.
Students who opt for electronic keyboard and theory of music under the syllabus of Trinity College of Music, London receive specialised training.
Drama
Students are encouraged to develop their public speaking and dramatic skills through school plays and theatre. This training provides them an ideal opportunity and platform to discover and showcase their theatrical talents. In December 2004 The Millennium School’s musical production ‘The Hunch Back Of Notre Dame ‘ ran to packed houses for eight consecutive shows and received rave reviews.
Art
Art is a subject that brings out the creativity, novelty, curiosity and the power of imagination of an individual. Our students are exposed to a host of ongoing art and craft projects. Students are encouraged to explore their creative talent through a variety of medium that include clay, fabric, sand, paints, paper and many others.
The Afternoon Programme
Our afternoon self improvement programme is an enriching experience of our students. Special care is taken to ensure that the needs of individual's students are met. In the first session following a nourishing lunch, people complete their assignments, supervised by attentive "prep" teachers.
A talented team of teachers is on hand to discover and encourage budding talents among the student body. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of clubs including fine arts, music (instrumental and vocal), karate, robotics, computers, science and dance.
We offer an exciting variety of games and every student is encouraged to develop his or her talent and potential. The facilities provided include two swimming pools and a luxurious multi-purpose hall. Students may strengthen their athletic powers in a variety of sports such as swimming, tennis, badminton, basketball, cricket and football.
House System
The House System is an integral part of The Millennium Schools' aspirations for its students for this fosters a sense of belonging apart from striking a good balance between competition and co-operation.
Spring, summer, autumn and winter symbolic of the constant process of change, are the names of the four houses.
The system functions under the overall supervision of the house coordinator with house mistresses and masters monitoring their respective houses.
The prefects and assistant prefects lead by example. The investiture ceremony that symbolises the formal appointment is a solemn ceremony held in the first few weeks of the academic year.
The Millennium School prefects take on their mantle of responsibilities seriously and diligently believing us as we do that this is a preparation for future leadership roles.
