The Senior School Inter-House Elocution Competition - (Girls and Boys)
‘Eloquence in Speech is sure to lure Success within one’s reach’
Truly indeed! This year the senior school Inter-house Elocution Competition, organized on the 18th and 19th of May 2009, was of a much higher standard and it was encouraging to see an amazing improvement in skills of oration in our students. This has been consistently achieved over the last few years, thanks to the dedication of our wonderful students and the untiring efforts of our devoted staff members . An exemplary display of eloquence was evident as twenty four participants, both girls and boys competed in the Junior, Sub-Senior and Senior categories respectively. A spirit of healthy competition was in the air as our student audience cheered every participant regardless of which house they belonged to. Very encouraging indeed!
The competition was graced by the presence of our Principal Mr. Michael Guzder and Headmaster Mr. Jude Myers who are eminent speakers in their own caliber and have been instrumental in inspiring our students to achieve greater heights by acquiring effective communication skills. Experienced judges from the field of Education were impressed with the systematic manner in which the competition was organized and appreciated the clarity and confidence with which our young competitors rendered their poem and prose extracts. It was surely a tough task for them when deciding the winners in each category.
Results were tabulated and winners were adjudged on the basis of audibility, clarity, pronunciation, voice modulation, phrasing, expression, posture and confidence.

In competitions such as these, every individual participant is a winner, The only difference is that the one who goes the ‘extra mile’ walks away with laurels to his or her credit.
The efforts of Mrs. Sheela Mahesh & Mr Paramjit Ahluwalia along with their team of devoted staff members must be appreciated for having made the event a well-organised and memorable one.
