Waxing Eloquent - 2009
‘Waxing Eloquent’ this year was a dream come true for the students of the Millennnium School where joy knew no bounds as our three young finalists triumphantly lifted the overall Championship Trophy along with individual trophies
for ‘The Best Speaker and Second Best Speaker ‘ in both the senior categories in the Inter-School Elocution Competition for Boys held at our school on 29th October, 2009.
It was an ecstatic win in the sense that there was recognition and appreciation for a unique style of eloquence which was aptly rendered by our boys with great fervor and passion. The competition reached new heights this year as every prose and poetic rendition had been chosen with great care by the respective schools and delivered with equal enthusiasm by the participants . Our panel of eminent judges, well known for their excellent skills in public speaking were highly impressed with the clarity in speech, diction and the eloquent manner in which our boys expressed themselves.
The results of Waxing Eloquent 2009 have been the most outstanding with Daniel Frank of the Sub Junior category who recited a beautiful poem on ‘The Shark’
won the first runner up trophy while Pranav Mathew Cherian with his rendition of ‘A Lecture on Shakespeare’ clinched the winning trophy as well as the ‘Second Best Speaker’ award in the Sub-Senior category. Robin Darasha did very well
with his rendition of ‘Men and Women’ and won the first position as well as ‘The Best Speaker’ award in the Senior category. The most prominent achievement of our students was the thrill of winning the overall Championship Trophy for the first time. We as staff were equally thrilled to see a glow on their faces.
It is now our responsibility to defend the title and maintain this momentum of winning in the coming years.
