6th Inter School Swimming Gala

The Inter-School Swimming Gala – 2009 – 2010

Loud cheers and thundering applause were the order of the day at the 6th Annual Inter-School Swimming Meet for boys hosted by the The Millennium School on Thursday,  27th  January 2010. Twelve competitive schools participated and the spectators were amazed at the wonderful display of strength, will-power, skill and team-work from our young and vibrant swimmers.

The competition began with the Opening Ceremony where the Chief Guest Mr. Raymi Van Der Spek, Vice President (Administration) of The University of Wollongong, Dubai was welcomed by our Headmaster Mr. Jude Myers, as the Principal was away, attending a meeting of the Heads of CBSE schools at Muscat.

The Junior school choir sang a medley from the collection of  Sir Elton John which enthralled the audience. The Chief Guest then addressed the teams and declared the swimming meet open.

The events began on a highly competitive note where  swimmers competed with every bit of their strength, with some making good use of technique while others relying on moral support and team-work to clock the best timing and make it to the winning stand. The Millennium School swimmers went all out to win laurels in varied events, be it the Freestyle, the Back stroke, the Breast stroke, the Butterfly or the Medley  and won 26 medals in all. The Parents of our young swimmers
